Default New Vrod owner

Stop by a dealership yesterday and they had a 02 Vrod at a good price. So I figured what the hell and bought it. I'm gonna let it sit for the winter then put it on the road in the spring. This is the only pic I got so far (a bit blurry since its a cell phone camera). Notice the red sold tag on it!
Is there any common problems or anything else I should know about the 02's?

VROD02, What's happening? I bought my 02 in 02 and still love it. I changed-out the wheels and the brake calipers first then got around to the exhaust which is a Joker Machine 2 into 1 stainless header. There is a forum for V-Rods that's pretty good. The one thread that stood out was the one about the fuel line rubbing against the allen bolt which holds the rear coil on. If left alone it could be a fire hazard. Take your air-box cover off and look straight down at the top of the rear cylinder, you will see the black coil on top. Grab the fuel line and rotate it. You should see a scuff mark or hole worn thru the fabric around the line, hopefully not thru the line itself. I just tie-wrapped the line away from the coil bolts and it seems to be ok. Another problem seemed to be with the over-flow tank located behind the right neck cover. Sorry don't remember the exact problem or solution. You should be able to find the answers on that V-Rod website. Good Luck!

Congrats as well.

If this bike is completely stock, you will have a 30 tooth front sproket. This will lower cruise RPM, but it make taking off from a stop light a little more difficult, especially with a passenger. You can change to the later model 28 tooth(which will also require a different belt), or leave it alone. Just so you know.

Thanks guys, glad to be part of and now an owner of the greatest motorcycle ever made!
Lots of great information so far that will be helpful for me that you guys have posted. I'll be sure to check the fuel line as well as count the teeth on the sprocket. There are some upgrades already done to it, such as the exhaust. Can't wait to go cruisin with it.
I'll never be able to decide now what to drive the bike or the vette??
