New to here, Harley's in General, but not to bikes
After years of riding around I finally guess I was broke in....went and bought a Harley.
Tomorrow I finish off the purchase of a 1997 H-D Sportster 1200. It is not my first bike but it is my first V-twin. It will be unlike anything I currently own or know how to ride.
My current bike (and the only one I've ever rode) is a 1973 Triumph Bonneville. So needless to say I guess I am used to doing things "Backwards". Do any of yall have these old bikes? Do you find the transition from right side shift to left side difficult at times? That is a big concern of mine. I'd hate to go to brake and hit the gears or vice versa.
Anyway, back to the H-D. This Sportster appears well taken care of. I really don't know much about them so I'm trying to find out as much as I can from anyone. I hope to talk to yall soon.
Thanks!
Fred

Sweet looking Bonny! Tattooguy has a nice bonny chopper. I'm sure he can give you some experience in switching from right to left shift. At any rate, welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll get most if not all your questions answered here.
