Hi all! I just registered for the site. I've been reading the forums for awhile now so I figured I might as well join in on the fun. There's alot of great info on here and it looks like there are plenty of well qualified members to answer most all questions that need an answer. I'll do my best to contribute to the forum when ever possible also.
About me. I'm from Upstate NY, 43 year old male. Just bought my first Harley after a 10 year drought from riding. Got married, had a few kids, drooled over everyone elses bike every spring for 10 years and finally said the heck with it and went out and bought another bike. This time I drove directly to the harley dealer and passed by all the Jap shops on the way. I started riding when I was 16. I've had a bunch of Jap bikes over the years but always wanted a Harley. The last new bike I bought was a Yamaha Radian 600 in 86. The same year Harley introduced the 883. Back then the Yamaha was 3000 bucks and the 883 was $4000 so for some silly reason I went with the Yamaha and have been kicking my self for doing that for 19 years. So this time there was no alternative having lived with doing that for so long. I went out and bought a 05 883 Sportster like I should have done back in 86. Now I'm loving life!!! I love this bike. I've added a bunch of stuff to it since I bought it. Its nearly as much fun customizing it as it is riding it ( I did say nearly). So far I've changed the seat, added passenger pegs, added highway pegs, installed Cycle Shack slip ons, added a sissy bar with a rack, added a windshield, painted my side covers to match the bike, swapped the rear shocks for lower ones, swapped out the belt gaurd for a chrome one, and I bought another brand new, identicle tank which is currently out having some air brush work done to it. Got a killer deal on the tank on Ebay, $150 bucks. Figure when its done I'll swap it out and put my original tank on Ebay and get my money back without missing any riding time. I probably should of just bought a Custom but that would have taken all the fun out of doing it myself. And what would the UPS dude do if he didn't have to stop here two or three times a week!
Well, thats my story! Looking forward to all the info availiable here. I'll try to post a pic if it works.

Great looking bike! Congratulations. I'm kind’ a in the same situation - kids, rode jap bikes, etc. Anyhow, where on your is the inspection sticker? I just bout my Super Glide and need it inspected and don't know where the best (least noticeable) place to put it.
Again, congratulations on a great looking bike. Welcome.

Brad, in NY they put the inspection sticker on the lower area of the left fork. To me that seems like the least noticable spot but then again, they have been putting them there in NY since I started riding so I may just be used to it!
