Default rear bearing orientation

Im in the process of replacing the rear wheel bearings on my 15sgs. I bought allballs bearing 25-1692. It has all the wheel bearings and the isolator bearings. I installed the primary side abs bearing first and went to install the other side and their isnt any numbers stamped on bearing to tell which way the bearing to be installed.
Anyone run into this?

I doubt it would matter. Most sealed bearings are designed to go in either way, however an abs bearing has to have the tonering towards the abs sensor.

The ABS bearing has a grove in it and a different color grease seal, no mistaking which way that bearing goes. This is the first set of bearings,iv seen without something telling you which way the bearing goes

I've installed a lot of sealed bearings on various vehicles, unless otherwised mark it doesn't matter. What you can do for a piece of mind is contact the bearing manufacturer and ask them.

Typically, it's lettered side out. In the case of inner cam bearings there's a difference in the edges of the bearing housing to facilitate install. One side of the of bearing is also designed to be pushed on install, one side isn't.

One the left you can see the square edges and writing and on the right you see the rounded edges making it easier to go into the bearing bore. Pressing from the non-writing side you can **** the bearing or side load the bearings by crushing the race. I'm not saying this is the case for your application but sometimes it matters. Not on topic, but on the right is a caged inner cam bearing HD uses. If I were inside the cam chest of any HD I would replace them with a full compliment bearing like the one on the left.

Your right. Didn’t matter which side went in with these bearings

Nomadmax's suggestion is good practice, if only to be able at a later date to read and confirm what brand and part number the bearings are.
