Default Widest Tire/Wheel

Hey guys, can you tell me what the widest tire/wheel combo I can put on my 2016 Heritage without modifying the swing arm or going to a smaller drive belt?

Thanks for any and all replies. Pics if you have them.

Not without doing the modifications you don't want to do. You will also need a wider wheel 5-5.5"...

As dfwhockey17 says, your 16x3 rim is too narrow for a 180, also your stock Heritage fender probably would be another obstacle.

There now are some 160 tires that are recommended for use on a 3" rim if your fender can handle it

.

As tyre width increases, they tend also to go to a lower profile. As examples, the stock tyres that H-Ds have used over many years, all of them on the stock 16" x 3" sized rim, are 130/90, 140/85 and 150/80. It is no coincidence those also have near identical rolling diameters. When H-D went to a 160, for some custom models initially, they used a 160/70, however that fits a 4.5" wide rim. The current stock H-D wheels that take a 180 wide tyre use a 5" wide rim. So you can see the way the industry and tyre sizes are developing, as width increases.
