Default Swingarm question

Hello all. I have a 1998 heritage softail classic. I want go with a 18x5.5 rear wheel and a 140mm tire. Will I have any clearance issues with belt, pulley etc..? Any info is greatly appreciated!!

Why bother with the 18" wheel? You can put a 140 tire on the wheel you have.

I personally like the look of the 18" wheel rather than the stock 16". Just my 2 cents 😎

That 18" is IIRC two inches wider than the 16". Try asking in the wheel & tire tech forum.

I think you're going to struggle to get a 5.5" wide wheel in the stock swing arm...I put a 4.5 deuce wheel in my evo softail. I'm probably going to put a 4.25 switchback wheel on my slim.

I have done a 18x4.25" wheel with a 150 tire on the back of an EVO FLSTC. I had to space out the pulley and use custom wheel spacers and it worked, clearance was tight, but it worked...

this is a 170 wide on a 17x4.25 deuce wheel. I had to go to a skinny belt an pulley to make it all fit.
