How is this tire date code possible?
0535?
It's on a 2006 Karavan trailer just purchased.
The tires look old, I thought maybe original to the trailer
but the date code after the DOT tells me they were/ will be manufactured in 2035, 9 years from now.
Confusing.
So, as tires are good for at least 5 years, are these good until 2040?

 

Id say that would be the wrong oblong imprint in the tire.
There's gotta be another on there somewhere with the correct code.

 

Some non American tire companies use year/week date codes, so those would be from the end of August, 2005.

So they should be good until 16 years ago.
