Had a Cobra Chrome on back order for a few months now. Dealer says his Avon rep has just advised that Avon is no longer filling orders in North America and will be focusing on Europe from now on. Anyone else hear anything about this?

 

Didn't hear that,They did move from UK to Europe.
I still see them in stock all over on line.

looks like you are correct only thing I can find for your bike is white wall.
I ran Avon for years but have since switched to metzler cruise tec.
Than handle and wear just as good as the Avon's

 

I’ve had the marathons before on a different bike and liked them. It’s just I don’t need to replace the front so wanted to stick with Avon which I really liked .my go to Canadian dealer Pete’s super bike says check back in May….unbeatable price at $320 cad.

 

We have the same thing going on with the Dunlop AE2 tires, some are on BO until May and the prices on tires spiked again. I don't believe there are any MC tires made in the USA any longer.

 

I waited five months for either an Avon or AE2 MH90. No dice.

Finally just went with a 90/90 Avon that was actually in stock somewhere. WTF. At least it's winter and I wasn't riding anyways.

 

Seriously considering the cruisetec for my rear. Similar tread and performance. Still unsure about mixing brands but don’t believe it’s an issue.

I was told the UK plant closed and all manufacturing was moved to somewhere else in Europe. That might have been a couple of years ago now.
