Default Front brake level pulsating

2009 FLHT with 11,000 miles.
Had the oil changed today and they dealer said I needed new front rotors.
My front brake level pulsates when you pull it in ..

Question: is this true ?
why would this happen with only 11,000 miles on the bike?
also the front pads are original and still in good shape.

i have this happening too on my V-rod. Done a lot of research on it. Guys say before changing the rotors, clean them really good. Also, you can clean the calipers and change the pads. Read this thread, it has some info in it. And if you search the forum you will find more. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/gener...-stopping.html

Mine did the same thing, pads looked good but someone told me to swap them. I did, and the feeling of a warped rotor went away.....

You can check the rotors with a dial indicator to see if they are warped. If they are, you can usually correct the problem with PATIENCE and a leather mallet. Using the dial indicator, find the high spot on the rotor and give it a gentle tap with the mallet. You will need to repeat this many many times until you get the rotor within spec and the pulsating will be gone. Keep in mind - it does not take much to warp a rotor, and it does not take a hard whack with the mallet to fix it. It just takes patience.

Floating rotors warp easily too. All it takes is a slight bump. If you put a disk lock on and roll the bike a little, and the rotors are bent. I have not tried having any turned to true them up. I have had good luck though gently nudging them back into shape with a leather mallet.
