Default spacer question

The only thing I don't understand is the spacers on the 2007 & older are different lenghts from left to right and on the 2008 & newer use the same spacer on each side. Is the off set built into the wheel ?

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. In 08 Harley introduced a different design of drive pulley, with integral rubber shock absorber. I doubt if the change of spacer length has anything to do with offset in the wheel, but a more bulky pulley.

I guess the difference is set by the axle , because otherwise if the math does not add up.

Yes, the offset is built into the wheel. I just did the swap on mine the other day.
