Default Lower Leg I.D.

I have a 77 FX with a wide glide front end I'm not sure of the year. I need to I.D. the lower legs so I can replace the Bananna brake with a new Performance Machine caliper. How can I tell what year and madel the lowers came off of?

That particular lower leg was on FLH's from the early 70's through the late 80's. They were manufactured by either Kayaba (up to 1977 I think) or showa after that date. There's no real physical difference on the outside between those years.

Before you lay down some hard earned cash on Performance Machine give this guy a look.

Thanks for the info. I already have a PM caliper on the rear and I'd like to have a matched set.
