I like the look and what they do for my feet at higher speeds.
On my last bike , I removed the throttles from the lowers during a hot spell in the summer and it was much cooler than with them.
Protection from the rain was still pretty good too.
The throttles (all the way open) still hinder airflow quite a bit , and removing them worked better than I thought it would.
They (the lowers)have to be disassembled to remove the throttles , but about 10 minutes a side is all it took. Just keep all the parts in order if you do it , the rubber tension ring has to be installed just so...
I'll probably do it on the new bike , as it runs a bit hotter than my 06 did.
