This is what I’m trying to solve. Towards the back bolt in the pic it’s about 3/4”. Just want it to lay flat. The guy that did my swingarm made a miscalculation and now isn’t returning my calls. Easiest fix is a tire swap.

My initial problem was the fender would hit the belt guard when the air suspension was all the way down. My install told me this was the reason my frame was off the ground.

Bad news: numerous attempts to adjust the shock and this is the lowest it could go. Only about 1/4” lower, leaving the bike 1/2” off the ground in back. Not a big deal but when you pay for a layed our frame it should lay out. At least this part didn’t cost me anything and it does look cool with the fender sitting below the guard.

My initial problem was my fender was hitting the belt guard when the air suspension was let all the way down. This was what the guy that customized my swing arm said was the reason the rear of the frame sat 3/4” off the ground. He claimed he adjust the shock to not hit the guard.

He wouldn’t return calls after a while (which should’ve been my first clue) so I decided to cut the guard. It was scratched anyways so no loss if I screwed it up.

My initial problem. Fender hitting the belt guard and not allowing the bike to completely lay the frame on the ground. The guy that did the swingarm work said he had to adjust the shock to and that was the reason why it sat 3/4” off the ground

He eventually didn’t return my calls, should’ve been my first clue. So I decided to cut the guard. Cheapest way to get it down, the guard was already scratched, so no loss should I screw it up. Easy fix right? Not really...

Good news: a bandsaw with a new blade cut it clean, a file smoothed out the edges, no chipped chrome. I could’ve saved the end of the guard but didn’t think about that til I re-installed it. Oh well, it’s looks ok if you don’t stare at it...stop staring.

My problem, so I was told, was that the fender hits the belt guard not allowing the bike to lay the frame completely on the ground. According to the guy that did the swingarm work, he had to adjust the shock to compensate for that. So he said...

This is with a new, lower profile rear tire. Posted in another thread. Basically a hair off from laid out but out of options. No other option now except purchase a custom swing arm, I also will look into the XL version of the SAS shock I have to give me 5” ride height instead of 3-1/2”.

He eventually stopped returning my calls, leaving me to figure things out on my own. I decided the cheapest route was to cut the guard. It was scratched so screwing it up wasn’t a concern.

Good new: a bandsaw with a new blade cut it cleanly, a file smoothed the edges, no chipping in the chrome. I probably could’ve saved the end of the guard since the fender doesn’t reach there but I didn’t think of that until the cut was done. It looks fine if you don’t stare at it...stop staring.

Bad news: after hours and numerous attempts to adjust the shock, I could only manage to get it come down 1/4”, I also found out that this shock only raises the bike 3-1/2”. Looks like not only did he not customize the swing arm right he lied by telling me the bike will come up to stock height. My next option is a lower profile tire (I’ve posted that I another thread), after that it’s purchase a custom swing arm and the XL SAS shock which will give me a 5” total height lift.

So my prblem, at least what I was told by the guy that did the framework. Was that the fender hit the belt guard and won’t allow the bike to lay the frame flat on the ground. According to him he had to adjust the shock to compensate.

So with the 140/60/18 shinko podium I got the bike to come within 1/16” to the ground. I may attempt to shave the bump stop a little to get it all the way flat. Not really necessary but when I expect it to lay flat it has to lay flat.

With the new rear tire. I kind of like the profile being a closer match to the front as far a profile and the bike rode normal. Kickstand is completely useless now, I’ll have to get a shortened one or cut and weld this one. Another thread for another day.
