Here's the frame, it has pads front and each side on he rear that actually sit some of the weight on the tour pack lid (not shown) with clear nylon film on the paint to protect it. It's painted black now, and the straps are permanently mounted on it.

Sown with a different "waterproof" bag sitting on it before the straps were added. That bag failed the water test miserably the first time we used it, so we sent it back.

Here it is with that crappy bag, but you can see the straps and the mount. The bungee cords just kept the bag centered because it liked to move around.

Undo three quick latch couplings and the bag is off! They all pass through an anchor point on the bag, and I made a little loop with two snaps on it that they pass through. Between them and the rear riser, the bag literally can't go anywhere. And the whole thing comes off by cutting four ty-wraps that hold it down to the lighted Aerowing rack.

Most of the weight is still on the rack, the assembly is held in place with ty-wraps to the rack, and any weight on it sits on the lid on pads, front and rear, so it's not all on just the four legs of the rack..

There's a couple of layers of vinyl window cling on the tour pack at the places the assembly pads sit to protect the paint; zero scuffing. Cut the ty-wraps, remove the assembly, There are a couple of layers of black electrical tape on the rack where the assembly sits on it partially, or where the ty-wraps hold one to the other.

The whole thing is made from copper tubing, reinforced inside on the two bottom corners with some JB Weld inside; all of the straps snap on and off (the cross strap isn't on there yet, but you can see where the snaps are. The whole thing weighs maybe two pounds, tops.

A shot in Pennsylvania on the way from NW Ohio to Bar Harbor. Mostly Interstate on the way there, yuk, although we did go through a nice section of rural New Jersey on the way. I didn't even know there was a rural New Jersey!

I rounded all the edges over with an angle grinder (gently!!!) to smooth it out before stuffing it in the shell.
