Since im a fan of things with four wheels, a stop at Summit Racing in Reno was a must! I grew up about 45mins from the Summit Racing store in Ohio.

Why the whole trip was worth it. Just arriving in SanFran and seeing the sites of the city made all those hours/days of riding worth it!

Donner Pass! Really interesting to goolgle and read about the history in this area. Makes you think a lot when cruising over the mountains.

Our camping spot out on the salt flats. After you exit 80 and drive past the gas station, instead of making the right turn for the salt you make a slight left which will lead you up into the mountains. This location help protect us from the wind along with some must needed shade.

Yet another camp ground picture. This was just outside Bushnell, NE at Oliver Reservoir. We arrived later in the evening around 2100, it was dark and only saw a few other campers. The Union railway didn't seem much of a hassle, only remembering one or two trains that night.

This photo helps explain why it took so long for me to buy my sportie, I really had to have mine in the hard candy blue.

The tool bag on my bike hung under the super glide decal for nearly 40 years. Three weeks ago I removed it and put it on my bike for this trip.

Notice the eagle NOT flying alone. AMF still gets a lot of hate but will my sportie still be running in 40 years?

After review, it is the chop fender rack! This was our cross country set up! That rack did a great job holding all our junk. No bagger needed.

I rock one from eBay, I think they had a chrome or black option. I really like the height, makes it easy to strap cargo to. Slimfab farm has some bare metal ones he makes.

Me (left) and Will (right). With Will Being a local Maryland boy full of knowledge no google or yelp was needed to find this neat destination.

The freedom machines at work. Most of the time it's just my Harley and the triumph, but once in awhile another co-worker will ride his KTM 690. But due to its gearing and rider position he doesn't ride a lot of highway rides with us.

Any better way to start off the season then to cruise skyline drive? This was Will's (left)1st long trip with the America, it truly was a test of the bikes reliability. Around trip was just over 10hours of riding.

This is how all our road trips start out (see gas station picture). Riders who has a “48” or “72” know this sight very well as the small 2.2gal tank needs topped off very frequently. Also a keen eye will notice my bike is set up in ”touring mode” aka, a sundowner seat and stock shock adjustment and of course the small gas can dangling off the bag. Of course my wife is smiling as the old saying goes. “even the worst day on the Harley is better than the best day at work”.

This photo has a glimpse of the pool and pond. There was a band set up that played for several hours. the "locals" seemed to have a good time and should of had a DD for their golf cart :P

This view can be seen in their dining room, so if you go (Peaks of Otter) ask for a window seat!
