In September of 2006, I was riding home on a residential street at about 11 PM. I was traveling the speed limit, 25MPH, when I saw headlights in my rear-view, coming closer and closer. I moved as far to the right as possible, then felt the impact, as me and the bike were tossed over the curb, and me over the handlebars. The lights went out! When I came to, all was dark. A van with 4 teens slowed and stopped. 2 got out, asked if I was OK. The other two, lifted the bike and pushed it back to the street. They all wreaked of alcohol, and I had the gut feeling that these were in fact the hitters, but could not prove it, especially in my condition. I was a little dizzy, but only around the corner from my house, so I thanked them, got on the bike, started it, and rode it home! It sounded kind of strange... I went right to bed, and in the morning woke up in a pool of dried blood, and could not move my right arm. My face looked like a pizza. I remembered the bike... uh-oh! Better go look at it....
