Decided to go with Phosphoric acid instead of Muriatic. Phosphoric is supposed to etch the steel less and less to less likelihood of flash rust.

Cork up the supply line hole. Used generic rubber stopper from Home Depot. Does this look like it will hold water to you? Well it shouldn't, because it didn't!
