Hwy 94 Ride (So Calif), Jan 27, 2006
Me and a few buddies have a ride planned for Saturday along Old Hwy 80 (Hwy 94). Anyone else wanna go?
To give you idea of what we're going to do...
[blockquote]
1. Stage up at Bob's Burgers in Murrieta (39509 Los Alamos Rd, Murrieta, CA 92563), leave around 9:30am. Map link:
http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&rls...p;ct=authority
2. Take I-15 into Escondido to pick up another rider, at the Arco station on Valley Pkwy (1161 Valley Pkwy), a block east of I-15. Probably leave there around 10:30am.
3. Take Hwy 78 to Bandy Canyon Rd, and take that to Highland Valley Rd, and then take that to Hwy 67, into Lakeside, and on to Old Hwy 80. I'm guessing that's 60 to 75 minutes of riding.
4. Take Old Hwy 80 to Harbison Cyn Rd, and down to Campo Rd. Take Campo Rd to Hwy 94, and Hwy 94 all the way out to La Posta Rd. La Posta Rd north to Old Hwy 80.
5. Old Hwy 80 west to Hwy 79, and Hwy 79 north to Julian. And then 79 north to Temecula, to the I-15.[/blockquote]
Starting in Murrieta, this could be close to a 300 mile ride.
Anyone want to ride, can meet us in one of three staging locations...
[blockquote]
1. Bob's Burgers, Murrieta (see step 1 above), no later than 9:30am.
2. Arco Station, Escondido, on Valley Pkwy, (see step 2 above), 10:30am.
3. Intersection of Lake Jennings Park Rd and Old Hwy 80, between 11:30am and 12:00pm. If anyone knows of a place on this intersection where we can pull off, like a gas station, strip mall, or whatever, post here and let us know.[/blockquote]
Please post a reply here if you want to hook up with us, no later than 8:00am Saturday morning. Reach me by phone at 949-233-5559.

There are a few map images in the link abovethat shows some of the routes.
Eight bikes on the ride: Myself, Stumpy, Mel, Hyrise,Big Red, Tony, Trevor, and Terry. Trevor took his brand new Yamaha Road Liner out on its first ride (just bought it last night).
The route: Starting in Escondido: Hwy 78 > Bandy Canyon Rd >Highland Valley Rd > Hwy 67 > Lake Jennings Park Rd > Old Hwy 80 > Harbison Canyon > Dehesa Rd >Willow Glen Dr > Hwy 94 > Buckman Springs Rd > Old Hwy 80 > Hwy 79 > Lake Cuyamaca > Julian > Santa Ysabel > Hwy 79 back home through Temecula.
We got to the 7-Eleven in Lakeside (Lake Jennings Rd & Old Hwy 80) around 11:45am for a butt break andwaitedfor "Grumpy Irish Again" to show up.
Lunch at Applebees in Rancho San Diego.
Weather was pretty good. Got chilly from Pine Valley on back home. Saw a little bit of snow on the side of the road along Hwy 79 through Cuyamaca State Park.

Looks like you guys had a nice ride.I don't feel like I've had a good ride unless
we get at least 200-300 miles for the day. I'll try to hook up with you guys in the future
for a ride. Are significant others welcome?
