I was wondering if the forcewinder xr is a good ac to buy. I found a really good deal on one or should i save the money and buy the xr2?
Could someone tell me if this would work as is for my 06 custom? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...sol/45_1_b.jpg
you want to get theXR not the XR2. i just went through this about a month ago. basically the xr2 dumps oil mist back into the carb to be reburned in the combustion area by a tube thats supplied with the FW. Not good IMHO, but still a great looking product.
TheXR which i have, you need to vent oil mist with a breather tube setup, and btw you need the support bracket for either setup cause the carb will not support itself without it.
Thanks for the info. Is the support bracket something i have to buy for the forcewinder company or could i go to the dealer? Also how much is the bracket?

why would this not be good. Is this not exactly what the Screamin Eagle Air Filter does?
So my Screamin Eagle air filter dumps oil mist back into the carb as does the Forcewinder. Okay, but does the Forcewinder just give a little more knee room andopens a larger view of the engine but does not increase air flow more than the Screamin Eagle? Simply put, what benefit is there to swapping the Screamin Eagle for the Forcewinder?

I dont know if there is any benefit... I would buy one or the other to replace my stock filter. I did a search on the forcewinder and saw this topic. I was just wonder why the setup of the forcewinder is bad according to slammed and XLOCD?
It's not that it's bad. HD and Force Products apparantly thinks it's a great idea. I just prefer the oil blown out of the breathers having a path to escape below, rather than having it splatter on my jeans or the side of the motor. That's my main reason. There's also the theory, or possibly fact, that having the oil sucked into the combustion chamber is not a bad thing. I think the idea is that it getsinstantly burned up.
Both FW's are great intakes. The SE has thousands of people that swear by it too. NRHS has done some dyno runs, the FW is consistantly a great performer. If I remember right, they've tested the SE too. Take a look at nrhsperformance.com for some better info.
I think they look awsome. My draw back from not getting one was how well does it keep water out during rainy season? I ride all year long and needed something safe, to make sure water wasn't going into my engine.
