Maryland to Southwest deserts, Yellowstone and Glacier Nat'l Park in 2 weeks.
A friend and I are just about 1 month from our departure date (May, 12th). We will be riding a southern Highway route out to Albuquerque and then take our time to tour the high deserts, work our way up to Yellowstone and Glacier Nat'l Park and head on back. We have exactly two weeks.
What are the best roads, sights and experiences along the way. Your input is much appreciated. We have a Garmin 2610 with us and would love to program all the cool waypoints before we head out.

We did a trip out west in 05 Hwy 145 from Dolores to Telluride, Co is great. This may be west of your route but Bryce Cannon in Utah is also a good stop. There is a lot of good riding out west I hope to do several more trips.
I to have a Garmin 2610 it came in handy finding motels as well as navagating.

Damn! That looks like a great ride. I just checked it out on Google maps/satellite/hybrid. Looks like some serious mtn. twisties. It's a little further south than we were thinking of going but may have to reconsider.

Two weeks to get from Maryland to "out West" and back again? That's pretty aggressive ridingconsidering it's at least 2.5-3 days minimum ofhard riding each way from Maryland to Albuquerque. It'll take at least two days to get from Albquerque to Yellowstone, leaving you with 6 days to see stuff. Figure on 2-3 days in and around Yellowstone, leaving you with 3 slack days for seeing "the rest" of this part of the country... Hope you got some time off after the ride cuz you are gonna be tired as hell by the time you get home...

Mostly 1st and 2nd gear Plus, riding right through the middle of that copper mine in Morenci is cool too.
