Highway patrol lurking just over the hill I just came up. Big group of riders coming up other side (all giving me the "low hand salute"). I could tell they were flying low....need to warn them.....all could think of was the ancient "V" sign truck drivers used to use with the first to fingers. So they are all waving low at me, I'm holding up the "peace" sign and as I pass the last of the group THEY switched over to the peace sign!!! NOT the desired perception I was trying to get! [:@] How do ya let other riders know they are about to run into a radar trap???
I've used "the peace sign" held in the horizontal position. With your left hand you hold "the peace sign" horizontal to your body. I've used it on truckers and it works for sure. Most people don't know that sign or what it means, especally the younger ones, they might "flip you off" lol.
I've been signalled with what looked like tapping on top of the helmet, and once followed with a thumb pointing backwards. There was CHP up ahead for me that he passed. Saw the "tapping helmet" a couple of times. Could also mean "heads up" hazard ahead. I guess CHP or LEO ahead with radar would be a hazard!
