I put a AC and change my slip-ons to Samson put a pc3 and had it dyno tune It ran great except for the pinging when I roll the throttle. I then look at the spark plug under a microscope and saw black specks and blobs of alumman on the plug. I took out the pc3 and got a Harley stage one down load no more pinging and bike runs ok. I want more control over my bike’s fuel mixture so I bought a new pc3 put it in and had it dyno for a 2nd time like before it ran great mpg was about 40 but the pinging came back I email dynojet they said to retard my timing this did not help I also try amoil octane bust to get rid of the pinging this did not help so for the sake of my piston I remove the pc3 if it is not to late. I thought about using a cooler plug but I have not try this had anybody have this problem with the PC3 and if so what did you do?

Tons of info on this site PC3 vs SERT. Pre 2006 its"sixof one/half a dozen of the other". But with the O2 sensors andthe 2007 ECMs leaning capabilities the debate tilts heavily towards SERT.
Lots of guys running A/C, mufflers and a Canned SERT map with great results.
Don't blame the PC, it could be the dyno turner. My bikeruns great with just a canned map.
Ditto. I couldn't be happier with the performance of this bike with the PCIII. No detonation with a Fuel Moto canned map even though I've leaned the cruise range considerably, and in these warmer temps (high-80's lately) oil temps stay at 180-190° as long as I'm moving, up to 205° or so in traffic. I also have an oil cooler.
I have try two deferent power commander and two different dyno tuners I have spent $1000. To try to get this to work I am starting to think that for the 07 the sert is the way to go. It is too bad I really like the pc3 and the last dyno Is tune perfect other than the pinning.

I would first take it back to the tuner and complain, and if he can't fix the detonation I would try downloading a canned map from DynoJet. Samson is a common slip-on, so I'm sure they have a map all ready to go. If it still doesn't straighten up, call DynoJet again.
Could you make a JPG of your map so we could look at it? I would be curious about how it looks. I have no detonation on my '07 even after leaning the cruise range considerably over the canned map from Fuel Moto, so there is no inherent incompatibility between the PCIII and '07's.
The first thing to do whenever you get pinging of any kind is try a different brand of gas. Sometime the additive package of one brand vs another can make a difference. Also you could be getting bad gas from the same place regularly.
