SO, I'm planning my first trip to Myrtle Beach for May of '06. I know a little bit about the area since I was born in Beaufort, SC. But what I want to know is what events/places are a MUST to see while I'm there? What are the best "hang outs" for after dark? And where are the wastes of time, or places to avoid? Thanks to anyone who can help out.
CRASH,we're planing our first trip to Myrtle Beach in 06 also..never been but looking forward to it..maybe we can get some forum members together, would like to meet and put faces together..who's buying 1st round???..Ranger
I was thinking about going to Myrtle Beach for the first time. I would ride down from Richmond, VA. My home could be a pit stop.
Eventhought I played rugby against Penn State and dont have fond memories!

Sounds like a GREAT idea. Maybe we could even get hold of the "mascot"? As for the first round? I say whoever travelled the shortest distance...

Well I'm pretty sure Richmond would be on the way for me. When did you play rugby? I knew a couple guys on the team...
We've been going to Myrtle Beach Bike Week for several years now, Spring & Fall. Be sure to hit the big attractions, like Suck Bang Blow (both locations) and the Rat Hole. Aside from that, there's really just so much to see that you can't go wrong. If you see a group of bikes, then surely something cool is happening nearby.
Suck, Bang, Blow has two locations in MB. I believe the original is on 17 bypass, but I am not for sure. There are maps online that will show the attractions. If you like looking at any of the OCC stuff, they usually have Club Kryptonite all to themselves. A 3 hour or so wait will get you an autograph. There are stunt shows (maybe Bubba Blackwell) over at Carolina Landing. The HD Stealer over on 17 Bus. (or maybe that's the bypass) is a must also for some reason or another...and don't expect a discount! There are vendors allover the strip, so pretty much, like has been said, there is plenty to do.
Suck Bang and Blow, both locations are awesome. You can actually ride your bike through the center of the bar. Lots of fun. The Broken Spoke, H-B Spokes(Originally called H-D Spokes. Lots of fun at Broadway at the Beach and Bearfoot Landing. Fun times at Iron Gate, H-D dealers, and about 1,000,000 other little hang outs up and down the main drag. You'll have a great time no matter where you are at.

I played against Penn State when they were 2nd in the Nation during the 1999 season and 2000. I played with a group of guys that moved to DC afterwards. When were you there crash.

I'm still "here" now, but I was actually GOING to school from 86-91. Rugby was a club sport then. Actually I think it still is...
