Default APES Wiring Harness

I have an 02 Superglide with stock bars that have kept me in theforward in the windfor years. I'm looking to get a more comfortable ride and amplanning on the10" bars which will give me more of a Wide Glide look withthe shoulders upriding comfort.

My question: Called the dealer and they do not sell a harness kit that will work. Is this true?I was hoping to pick up some WideGlide parts to make for a simple install. Anyone know of a way to get around all the splice and soldering?
Thanks for your help
DD

From what I've seen pulling the wiring to chaneg outthe bars on my '02 FXDL you should have more than enough wiring stuffed in the backbone of your frame. I don't have 10" WG apes, but I've got 8-9" rise t-bars & there is still at the very least another 4-5" or more wiring in there.

Default APES Wiring Harness

My brother-inlaw has a 2005 lowrider and is wanting to put mini-apes on it because he likes the feel of them on my street bob. The only thing holding him back is the that he would have to get all new brake lines, clutch lines, etc... has anyone done this, and what approx. is the cost. Would he have the excess lines also from his existing harness. Also is he able to get a 180 tire on his 2005 lowrider without getting a widetire kit,the HD told him that it would run him about $2000 get the wide tire kit and the 180. The lowridercomes with the 150 instead of the 160 like my street bob.Was wondering if he could stuff the 180 under his bike like the street bobs are able to. Sorry about rambling on.

Thanks lowriderfxr
Where did you find a kit, the dealer said they didnt have anything and that I would have to splice the wire if they were not long enough.

Man save yourself some money. Go to your local NAPA store and buy a trailer wireing harness. They are all color coded. Cut off the ends cut your wires and splice. 15 min job tops.

I got the kit at Cowboy HD in Beaumont TX. Some think that it is advantageous to plug the wires into another connector. Splicing everything can make a large "wad" in your wiring and can cause problems when you are running your wiring through the handlebars. PM me if you want the kit, I'll make you a great deal. They changed everything in 2007 so I had to buy another kit.
