I had an accident yesterday. Im not sure of the damage to my EGS as of yet. Below is a link with some pictures of the bike and myself.
Ive included the pics of myself is in reference to a post Ive read on people going with 'shorter' windshields. I bounced up and down several times.....the windshield and my throat making contact at least twice. This much I can remember. I dont know if this would be a "PRO or CON" to shorter or taller windshields.
I still dont know exactly WHAT happened. I know the weather was GREAT....I was doing about 30 mph into this curve. About half way into the curve, I just KNEW I wasnt going to make it. I dont know remember if I lost power???....If I lost traction???...If something 'failed' on the bike itself???...or if it was just HUMAN ERROR???? Honestly, I dont REMEMBER. I can still see the 'event' like it just happened. There are NO skid or slide marks....There was no oncoming traffic. The lady in the vehicle right behind me.....stopped and checked on me...even SHE said "What happened?" "You weren't going that fast!"....Saying it was like I just 'made a beeline' to the ditch.
The link below shows the pics...AND an 'AFTERTHOUGHT'. I'd like for all of you to read the 'AFTERTHOUGHT'. I KNOW....without a doubt....I was 'BLESSED" yesterday. Im going back to the curve this afternoon .... take some pictures....and AGAIN, try and figure out what went wrong. I'll post pictures of the curve when I return.
Thanks to ALL who helped me started....and offered answers to my questions. Yall are a GREAT BUNCH!!!
chin up man....glad youre just sore....bike aint as bad as it looks....wash it off first....drain the fluids, including the crank drain....refill and fire it off....think you'll be pleasantly surprised
Im hopeful Bryan.....GEICO's adjusteris supposed to contact me tomorrow. I know the handlebars are toast....tried to 'bump' the engine over...no luck. Headlight and passing lights still work....fuel pump still primes...even the 'yellow' light still operates. Might be a cut wire in the 'bars....who knows. Havent seen any cracks in the fairing as of yet. Left floorboard is bent....engine guard is bent. Alot of scratches on the tank....left 'bag' latch is sprung.....backrest is bent. LOL...left pipe is 'plugged' with mud. Yea...Im hopeful!
