Default Tune Trapper Antennas

http://www.ecshylites.com/catalog/it...191/721930.htm

I got around to installing my tune trapper antenna today, and so far I am very impressed!!! Pulling in twice as many stations as before with the stock whip and that includes stations over a hundred miles away. (las Vegas)

AM, FM, and yes even the weather band comes in loud and clear!!

With the factory whip and hardware gone, I think the bike has cleaner lines and swapping the tour pak out for backrest and luggage rack are much simpler not having to hassel the antenna.

Darn Ed,

Now I have to go out in the cold and put mine in. You didn't happen to take a pic of your installation did you? Might save me some time figuring it out if you could post one or two.

Regards,

Bil

Ya know, thats something I need to get in the habit of doing. Unfortunatly I did not take a picture BUT. In my signature photo, if you place the mouse pointer above the headlamps at about what would be roughly 1 1/2 and draw a line straight across....thats where I put it. I wanted it as far forward in the nose to avoid it hitting the stereo unit itself upon reassembly. Cleaned the inner fairing with rubbing alcohol real good and the double back tap on the antenna stuck very well........mind you the antenna bows slightly mounting it that way but like I said the tape held it in place. I also had some clear silicon on hand and ran a bead around the base of the mount and around the tips of the antenna to help secure it a little better especially when warmer weather returns and maybe wearkens the mounting tape.
Good luck with your install.
