Interested in seeing pics of members headlight upgrades to their Sportsters.Smooth chrome or patterned, 4 1/2", 5 3/4", billet, bullet, shallow depth or passanger train length - I wanna' see 'em all...
You need the chrome piece where you current brow mounts. I removed the old headlight and then you have to drill a pilot hole through the bottom triple tree. I didn't remove the front wheel. Most people remove the front wheel and drill up. With the headlight gone, my drill fit right in the space and I drilled from the top down. Then mount the new headlight and splice the wires to the existing harness. Then put the chrome cover on. It not that difficult to do. I just recently bought a 2003 Sportster speedometer mount and moved my speedometer to below the handlebars. Your existing speedometer mount will work just fine, I just wanted to clean up the front end.
