First picture of almost complete "Ultra Heritage Classic"
Picked up Cyclevisions Bagger tail Ultra Classic bag mounts for a softail and just finished priming and prep of 2 UC hard bags to mount.
I'm having a tough time finding anyone local to paint "Brandywine Sunglo" for the fairing and bags.
Unusual and unique, very nice. I'm curious, my heritage runs very hot her in AZ. My oil temp runs 250 on a hot day. Does having the ultra's lowers have any affect on engine temp by blocking cooling air to the engine?
I just finished putting on the lowers last night, so this morning was the first I rode it. My temp only got to 198*, but it’s starting out chilly in the mornings (50-55 degrees).
I used a modified set of stock road king engine guards so the lower would pretty much mount just like a stock location, and even though I had to modify the bottom of the lowers to fit, it should still direct the air nicely over the engine and HD says that’s actually a benefit to cooling. The only concern may be in heavy traffic.
As far as the bags go, I may just paint them myself. I’ve done base/clear paint that came out excellent on my last bike, but I’ve never done a 3 stage base/mid/clear. I just hate to waste 300.00 worth of paint and not get a good match.
The seat is actually for the 07-08 Heritage or Springer. It's not as wide as my 06 stock seat, but it's deep and feels nice with the back rest.
The tour pack is from an 06 se ultra. I got it from a guy in Tampa Fl. He had it on Craigslist.com for 700.00 it included everything except the speakerpods and I had to get the 40.00 keyed barrel from my code. It was in mint condition and retailed for 1499.00 + 399.00 for the backrest, so I did well.
