Got LR dash on St bob...with tach. good pics added
Well i got it on... took some shaving and had to make it work but thanks ya'll for all the help! it looks sick! I tossed on some chrome trim rings to go around my guages to really make the black pop... as soon as i get the rest of my stuff on the bike and the rims back the black dash will really tie it all together!... what you guys think? (it is not bolted down in the pics cause i am waiting on a pin from HD to finish the wiring... 5 min job) ha ha ha sorry Jackyl i had to have my tach ... sorry the pics suck it is -5 outside and my camera lense keeps fogging up!
RE: Got LR dash on St bob...with tach... blacked out!
It's kind of hard to tell from the pics but, does it lay down flat with the tank? Did you rattle can/professional paint/or powder coat? Also where was the shaving? was it the dash itself? around the tank? I like this project
RE: Got LR dash on St bob...with tach... blacked out!
ya the dash sits flush... the tach that i got was off a older glide so it was a bit longer than the new guages that are on the bikes 06 and up... i had to shave down some of the plastic from the underside of the tach... I will pull it off and take some pics to show you what i am talking about tomorrow, i just took a dremel to it... very carefully not to damage the interiors... i used the how to that was put up here from Kpreece http://www.shareaproject.com/pages/p...,p,173,00.html
the dash is off a newer LR... I basicly followed the how to and wired it all up... i powder coated the dash so it matched all the restof the powdercoated parts...looks sick! i am heating the garage tomorrow to put some apes on my girls bike, i will take some quality pics for you...
Sal C hooked me up with the dash and 06FXDBI helped out a ton as well... it sits totally flush with the tank... I love having a tach on my bike and this allows that to happen and still look very clean... the bike is still up on the lift as i am waiting for my twisted spokes for the front rim (it is almost impossible to find twisted spokes for stock rim sizes) but the bike should be down and finished by next weekend... ill post all the pics and mods then... Loner Industries is getting me out an amazing set of risers that will really just pull the whole front end together! i am pretty pumped if you can not tell
RE: Got LR dash on St bob...with tach... blacked out!
on my way out to the garage now... i will take some pics how i wire in the idiot lights... i am going to use LED's with resisters tapped in... that way i do not loose my sig, engine, N, and oil indicators... i have to take the dash off to do it so i will take all the pics you need. ill keep ya'll posted!
