Default PC III Install pix with ABS

I've been meaning to get these pictures posted of the PC III install from a couple of weeks back. The first two are how I trimmed the ECM tray to fit the connector in front of the battery. Its a snug fit but works pretty good if you move the positive cable around to the the side of the battery. Sorry for the shakey photo of the completed install. Hope this helps someone.........

Did you have to modify this piece or the bottom part of it? I had to trim the corner of the top and bottom of this piece to get the connector to fit in there. Didnt even think about taking pics.

I am installing one on my buddies 06 ultra this weekend, I will take pics of that install.
But I am curious if other ABS installs had to modify this piece in addition to the ECM plate. I also had to modify the ECM plate exactly as you show in your post.

I only needed to trim the ECM mounting.

You guys are the greatest. What did you cut the plastic with. Was it absolutely necessary? (PC says just cram it in.) Does the ecm still fit correctly? Would you do it again? Is this an argument for serts or FP's? Is it a reason not to get ABS? Man, I hate hacking on a new bike. My Fuelmoto/Rush pkg should arrive this week.

For less than 3 bills, I dont think the PC can be beat, but if you have an ABS bike you are going to be doing some hacking....
I used a die grinder but a dremmel would work well too. Hell tin snips would get it done!

Good luck

I don't think you will get by without trimming the tray. The variance may be how much is necessary. On the first two pictures, I'm trying to illustrate what I had to remove before it will fit on my application. I think some bikes will havemore room than others depending on the wrapping of the OE harness that runs out of the bottom of thewiring trough.I used a dremmel to cut the corner off on mine but I am sure that if you don't have one, you could get by with a decent pair of snips or even a utility knife if you feel brave. The tray willstill be fucntional and not really look too hacked up in the event you ever remove the PC for any reason. If you ever wanted to replace the tray, I bet it wouldn't be very much. I wouldn't let this small modificationsteer me away from ABS.

Do you guys both ride FLHTCU's? I looked under the seat of mine. There's no room in there. Anybody try to tune a SERT to Fuelmoto's pipes? I have the pipes and the PC and my Big Sucker will be here tomorrow. I'm leaning toward spending the extra money.

OBTW PC has admitted that the ecm tray has to be modified "on anniversary" models. Thewebsite says to call Dynajet for details. Here's some good news, price of a new ecm caddy: $14.50.
