Default Signal Relocator Help-

Well I bought this kit http://www.jpcycles.com/productdetai...ge=&search=
from JP Cycles and I have no idea how the hell it goes on. The kit did not come with any intallation instructions. Just wondering if anyone has this particular kit and would like to shed some light so to speak. Thanks.

from the look of it, you can pop the screws out of the (dont know the terminology here) brace below your headlight, and it goes on the sides there. 1 screw to hold it on, 1 to screw into the bottom of the turn signal.. just from the looks of it anyhow

Hatz01,

I installed mine this weekend and had the same problems. You can use the pivot bolts from the old handlebar installation or find some 5/16-24 bolts. I preferred new bolts because the pivot bolts have a shoulder but you can get past that with spacers if you have them.

I used 1 1/4 5/16-24 cap heads with a washer on the inside to give the bolt a flat surface to cinch to inside the cup area of the new bracket. I put 2 5-16-24 nuts on the bolt to act as jam nuts against the new bracket and the turn signal. I'm going to replace them with chrome nuts eventually (the ones I used are stainless).

There's probably smarter ways to do this but this is how I got through the weekend with what I had to work with.

Did the same with the set I bought the weekend before last. I used a similar mounting solution for the signals, but instead of cap heads w/ a washer, I used button head to get the load spread across the washer more. I didn't use a nut as a jam nut either, but ground down an old allen head wrench I had lying around to get in between the mount and triple clamp to tighten it once I had the position I wanted.

Ok guys, good job on fabbing up ways to get this kit to work. When I stated it was an easy install in another post, it was because I only had to use the small allen bolts supplied with the HD "Batwing" kit to mount my sigs to the new JP Cycles kit. And JP Cycles is'nt gonna help you much since it's a Drag Specialties product and their tech people are even dumber........(is dumber a word?).

Since I'm surethe the bolts I used can be found at Home Depot, Im gonna pull mine apart just to make sure anyone else buying this kit picks up the right bolts to make it as flush as mine is.

Stay tuned............

Ok, here's the deal. You'll needtwo5/16-24 x 5/8 Allen bolts to make it happen. The trick to it is, to tighten the small allen heads bolts that hold the sigs in place just enough so that there is a minor amount of play in them for adjustment when the bike is upright. Grab a couple of 5/16 lock washers also.

If ya can't find what ya need bolt wise at The Depot, your dealer has them. Part # 2698A.
