Default So Cal Passport to Prizes UPDATED 4/28/08 !

Itinerary for Saturday 5/3/08:

Looks like we will just meet at L.A. H-D @ 10am to collect our Prize packages.

I was told that they will be giving them out that morning or until they run out.

Anyone planning on riding out with us to the Berdoo Bike & Blues Rendezvousshould be ready to pull out at 11am.

Post on this thread if you are planning to ride out with us so we will keep an eye out for you.

It's that time again !

Here's the deal:

Visit 3 H-D dealers: El Cajon H-D on Saturday April 12th,Santa Maria H-D on Sunday April 20thand L.A. H-D
on Saturday May 3rd.

Go to each dealer on those specific days, have your dealer providedpassport stamped and then collect a prize package on or shortly after the May 3rd event at the L.A. dealer.

They haven't announced the prize package yet but last year it was about $100 worth ofstuff like hats, belt buckles, mugs, picture framesetc.

Open houses with free food and entertainment at each stop.

The Santa Maria event is on a Sunday witha 3.5 hr ride each way. The plan is to ride up Saturday, have lunchin Santa Barbara thenspend the night and come back Sunday after lunch and the dealer event as was done last year. I will post hotel info as the event gets closer.

We had 4 bikes and 2 cages last year for the overnighter. So if you want to bring your S.O. and even the kids they are welcome to follow or meet us up there.

Anyway post here if you are interesed in hooking up for 1, 2 or all 3 rides leaving from the LA/OC border.

We will do our best to hookup with other members along the routes as well.

Primo

i'll do it again this year as well

i pray for no rain.

last year crashing in santa maria really Sucked.

in fact, if i am able to head up Saturday with you folks to Santa Maria, what do you think about doing that new route i was talking about a few weeks ago (it is kind of like the Tour of the Twistes, going through Ojai and such, however, goes to Santa Maria instead instead of heading back to the 5 and L.A.). This way, the ride to Santa Maria wouldn't be all freeway on the 101.

it is based on a MadMaps route i got free from the Bike Expo in December (if you went and got the same map and still have it, you can look and see what i am talking about).

whatcha think?

I think I know the way you mean; the 33 to the 166 to Santa Maria. Never been that way. According to Mapsource from the 101 at 33 to Santa Maria it is about 2hours 40min, 134 miles. Going straight up the 101 it is about 1hour 45min, 112 miles. You can also go by way of the 154 which is physically shorter, about 100miles; but still 1hour 44min because it is slower mountain road by Lake Cachuma.

Been wanting to go the way you suggested, 33 to 166. Could also take Ojai Rd to 33 off the 126.
