This should be a lot of fun.

If we can find someone to watch the kids, Heather will be coming with me.

Steve, I look forward to the ride down there with you.

Bluerose, if you need any help, please let me know.

For those that live in or visit the area often I couldsome suggestions on lodging and restaurants.

When I start posting routes if anyone sees anything that isremotely questionable yell at me! Or if you know of any places along the way that are "MUST STOPS" and I missed it speak up.

Last year I knew the area pretty well. This year I'm flying slightly blind.

Right now I'm debatingon lodgings in Mt. Shasta or Dunsmuir (10 miles south). Dunsmuir has a couple of interesting little places...not the ritz but something memorable like a Caboose Motel with real cabooses and some cabinsto stay in), Cave Springs (Motel and 1923 cabins with small car ports)....these places are cheaper then Mt. Shasta. For Mt Shasta there is The Best Westren which serves a full breakfast each morning...This is a plus because there is no need to go get food in the morning (I'm not a big breakfastperson but some need thier nourishment[&:])

BTW...This year I wasn't doing a shirt I figured we could stop by Redding Harley....Thoughts on that?

Sounds good. I could rope in several more riders to attend.

What's the weather in Shasta like in late May?

Sounds good. I think this picture was taken in the area this last November.

BTW, notice the 2 Chips in the background. This area is notorious for it's radar traps so remember to stay legal.

I'll keep the date on my calendar. Might be fun to meet a few people. I was born and raised in Yreka, just a few miles north. Still have some family in NorCal.

What's the weather in Shasta like in late May?
Try this site for weather info
http://www.idcide.com/weather/ca/mt-shasta.htm

Mt. Shasta

Highs (May - June) Between 67 and 76
Lows (May - June) Between 39 and 45

...

The plans are always to be back to the Hotel before dark to avoid super cool temps.
Remember for Saturday we will be cutting a pretty big circle which will likely include Redding/Red Bluff
Nice! Thanks for all the good info.
