Default coverting a 96 EFI to Mikuni carb-opinions and what is needed.

Hi guys, went in to the dyno folks today and the old DFO to manage fuel and air ratios is maxed out. To lean on the front cylinder and to rich on the back one. The sugestion was to pick a used Mikuni and manifold and a Crane single fire ignition and covert it over. Has anyone done this and what did you need and what did you think.

Bike is a 1996 Road King FLHR-I and I think it might be better to convert than to sell the bike.

Does a 96 EFI have a petcock? I would want a petcock on a carbed bike to keep the fuel from getting past the bowl and into the engine, plus you will have reserve. JMHO

go to pingels web site . They have the tank parts for the conversion . It is not a big deal . You don't need a wiring harness . Just wire up you ignition and your good .

Well boys before I convert, I decided to try Terry Components Terminal Velocity 2 if it works then I 'm out $400. and it is supposed to dial it's self in and clean it self also. We'll see. Talked to Shooter64 and he's got everything I need if I need it. Go to a carb that isand I got positive feedback from Philm on the terminal velocity 2.
