i have an 06 883c. i really enoy the ride but i would like to be able to sit staight up and nopt lean forward as much, and i am 6'2 so if i pull them back i feel like i have my hands on my knee's. i went to my local dealer and asked what my options are for how big i could go and told him i would like chest?shoulder high. he asked what year and i didnt even have oh sssss and he went CANT, harley doesnt have brake lines made for your bike yet, something about new metric brake lines and they didnt have the fittings? i have no idea what that means but i want bigger bars. am i screwed until they come out with them? what options do i have? thanks dave, will have pics of my scoot soon
There might be limited lengths but they DO make longer cables for 06's - I have them on my bike right now. I put DWG mini-apes on. Part no listed in my post here

Punch the guy and get a new dealer - I put Longhorns on mine since I wanted my elbows at a natural hieght - my dealer ordered me the parts from Russel - I let them figure out the numbers since they got confusin (russel prt #s)- little hint, go with 2 - 45 deg fittins, not one 45 and one 90 - the 90 make the line go at an unnatural angle - pics of the longhorns in my photo album
I ran into that when I had my 05 sporty. Check out JP Cycles website you can check their sportsters forum and they can help you with finding the right cable length. They can have specific lengths made for what you need and from what I understand it's not that much more expensive. I also have a set of 13.5 inch narrow glide apes that look good on the sportys for sale if you're interested im me.
