Default Installation review Fuel Moto Rush Slip-on with audio and pics

The following are some pics and audio files of the difference between the stock Rush Slip-on baffles and the Custom Fuel Moto baffles for the Rush Slip-ons.

I have been running the stock 2.5 inch baffles and really liked the sound...however, on trips where we are spending 5-8 hours a day on the road, we were either going to lose more of our hearing or have to start using ear plugs.

The Fuel Moto baffles promised more torque, and to be a bit quieter, so I made the switch today.

They are definitely quieter....time will tell if they are too quiet for me.

AND there is a DEFINITE increase in low and mid range torque. The real test will come next week when we go on a 5 day trip pulling the trailer.

These first two pics are the Rush 2.5 inch baffles I pulled out.

The next two pics are the Custom Fuel Moto baffles I installed. You can see that the one has a reducer cone with only a .75 inch inlet. The left side baffle is 1.75 inch and the right side baffle is 2 inch.

All the following audio files are from the same distance away from the exhaust...some of them look a little further, that is because of a different zoom adjustment. So this is an apples to apples comparison of the sound between the 2.5 inch baffles and the Custom Fuel Moto baffles.

Here is what the 2.5 inch baffles sound like:

Here is what it sounds like with the Custom Fuel Moto baffle in the left (the one with the reducer welded in) and with the stock 2.5" baffle still in the right:

For Grins and Giggles, this is with no slip-on at all on the right:

And this is what the Fuel Moto baffles sound like installed...quite a bit quieter, and and not quite as deep a rumble.

I went for another short ride this morning. The difference in the powerband is amazing!

With the 2.5" baffles I would feel it jump in torque around 3500 (no tach) and then pull from there. Now it comes on strong right away and pulls smoothly all the way thru.

I have not had the bike on a dyno in over two years, and when I did it was with stock 2" baffles in it. So all I have is the "seat of the pants dyno".

I am VERY PLEASED with the power gain.

Regarding the install:

I tried pulling the old baffles without taking the slip-ons off. No go. But after taking the slip-ons off it went very smoothly (with the help of some wd-40). The Fuel Moto baffles went in easily and bolted up tight-no rattles.

It really is a nice way to get some of the benefit of a 2 into 1 system while retaining the looks of a dual exhaust.
