I had the V Rod dynoed at the Marquette Rally today. The sound on the video doesn't do justice. The announcer said "If you're going for volume, this one is king. This is the loudest we've had." No less than 70% of people within 100 feet had their fingers in their ears. Some 300 feet away did the same. Check out the commpresion on the fork. This is the last of three runs.
Today's run showed a max power of 104.1 h.p. The torque wasn't read because he could not connect to the cylider-top coil paks. He only ran it to 7100 r.p.m. I don't know why. Probably because it is rated at 7000, but it gets louder all the way to 9000. It was done on a mobile trailer, so I'm not sure how accurate it is because of the beating it must take going down the road. I have another dyno from a stationary unit at Harley Davidson of Salina which shows higher h.p. and torque readings, but it evidently has been misplaced by the woman, so when I find it, I will post those readings. Bear in mind that this is on a bike that "loves back-pressure", and basically I have created a situation where it has little to none because of the removed baffles. The owner of M & M choppers (who built a 10 second Shovelhead and rode it to Colorado from Kansas to race it, then rode it home) after he got done running the V Rod said that he was impressed that it showed that much power after removal of the baffles. He said that he expected it to get around 80-90. Makes me feel good. I'll let the forum know when I find the other dyno sheet, but I wanted to post the video. Good video?
Found the dyno readout. Shows three sets of runs, because I was trying to add some rings to create back-pressure. Didn't work. The first is how it is set up now. If it connot be read, the h.p. is 107.07 and the torque is 72.95. The bottom chart is the air/fuel curve. Runs real good. Even better when I decide to pass someone who I decide is going slow at 85.
The Air/Fuel curve doesn't settle out till about 4K, I'd have the 1-4K dialed in, cause you look too lean from whats showing.
Well hell if your looking for a stright line, lets go ahead and "dial in" 4K to 8K" as it waviers from the line. the entire thing is between 13 and 14!
I'm on a crotch rocket, I can get him off the line because of my gears, but that bike will pull HARD on me in every gear!!! that bike is a runnin some-bitch!

The problem with trying to make adjustments by this graph alone is that the bike was in fifth, on a rolling start, to full throttle. From the tech who dynoed the bike--"If adjustments are to be made to the fuel curve, the bike must be read in various positions of the throttle. We could try to nats-*** it, but you may be wasting your time and money. From the visual read at all points, the bike seems to be running very well. Maybe even better than when it left the factory." I am using the PCIII as well, and I appreciate any question of the readout. I think you'd have to hear the whole story from the tech, and not just the "full-pull" read from the dyno sheet. Sorry I didn't provide more info.
