I am looking for a Road Glide rider that is using Wild1's 508 or 517 chubby bars. Looking to see how you like the pull back and also how tall of a rider you are... Thanks for your time and help.
I have the 517's on my RoadGlide and like them alot. I'm about 5'10", with short arms and the reach is great for me. I have some friends that say they don't think they would like the angle of the grips, but they don't bother me at all. I did replace all my cables and brake lines with SS, but that was because I didn't like the way the stock cables looked on the bars. The stock cables did fit, but just barely. The brake line had to be straightened and pulled out of the guage nacelle a little.
Nope - thats my friends... He is running the 517 - wanted to test my seat out - Mine is still a FLH until the last of July... I am doing my flyandride from Boston to Nova Scotia on July 8 on a Road Glide - then home to start the tear down... Your bike turned out nice...
Michael. Nice to hear from you again. I'm running the 517s. I love them. Ive done some looooong days with them (1000 mi +). You should remember I'm shorter than you (5'8"). I use a corbin with a back rest for the long trips. Ben.
your shorter than me and you are 5'8"... reread the post... Buttman is 5'10" and my friend (who ownes the RG I tried my corbin on is also 5'10" or a little more" I am 5'6"... I would love to be 5'8" but life just did not deal me that.... anyway,,, thanks for the post on your view of the 517,,,,
It's going along pretty good, I have a chrome wheel for the front, I will get it on when I get enough money to get the matching rear. I also have a king tour pack I am getting painted now getting ready for Sturgis.
For those "thinking" about the 517's - just talked to my friend that is running them on his RG - I was mistaken on his height - He is 6' - average length arms for 6' -
Yes, it has been stated - its a personal choice and not for everyone....
