took the plunge and ordered the lowering kit from burnout cycles
let me say i am very impressed
it was very easy to install
took me maybe an hour, thats only because my dumb *** had to keep repositioning my bike lift to get the shocks out
pulled out the stock shocks with 6k miles on them and installed the spacers
put the shocks back in and then adjusted them to my liking
didnt measure it yet but a good guesstimate is that i went down 1 and 3/4 inches
just put it down low enough in the rear to give it a good stance
put about 150 miles on it since the install (hiway and around town)
bike DOES NOT bottom out (yes even with the massive potholes we have in new joisey)
it actually feels like it steers a hair bit quicker doing tight turns at lower speeds
on the hiway and through the twisties it feels like handling was virtually unaffected, feels like it may have even improved a hair (maybe i am just crazy)
i will try to get some pics tomorow when i get home from work
the downside? havent experienced any yet so i guess time will tell
so a big thank you goes out to jeff at burnout as i am a happy customer
RE: Initial Analysis of Burnout Cycles' Lowering kit
I have a set of burnout cycle lowering kit but I haven't installed it yet. Glad to know it works as stated. Planing to lower the rear by an inch. Thanks for the info.
