Default Hayden M6 Primary Chain Tensioner

Just ordered mine. Hopefully it will get here next week while I'm still on leave, before I have to go back to work. I'm 200 away from my 5K service, with the installation of my oil cooler I changed the engine oil, when I did my braided cables, I changed the tranny oil, I figure I'll put in the chain tensioner and change the Primary....

I thought there was a thread some time back where someone had done a pretty decent job of pics and help...can't find it with the search.

If noone can come up with it, I'll make it and post it to the DIY forum.

Mac

It was Retired Ted that did that work and made a web page of it. His great work is here.

Mac you will love the M6 - Makes everything feel crisp - It does change the sound of the engine but I even thought that was cool. I chickened out on doing it myself but I doubt you will have any problem

I'll get through it, I enjoy tinkering...I'm really wondering whether or not I can do a 95" kit by myself...I won't be able to bore it out myself, but I think I can do everything else...the other alternative would be to buy a kit that already had everything bored out...I have to research it a little more...that project is down the road a little ways.

Explains it great. I'll order one and install it. If Mac can do it, I'll try.

Mac, You can do it, as the job is straight forward, measure the shim clarances and use locktite you will be fine. a very good mod to install for sure. [sm=happybounce.gif]

I used the hydraulic one on my 05RK. It's nice and should eliminate primary chain adjustments forever! I do get a bit of chain howl, but I spoke with the manufacture and the engineer says that's normal. Makes my bike sound like a hot rod with a gear drive camshaft.

That howl should quiet down after a few hundred miles, if it doesn't you can back off on the adjuster one notch should do it.
