Default Just gotta tell somebody

In the grand scheme of things, this aint no big deal. But this is my first year of serious riding and I DID IT!!

Last minute, loaded with suggestions fom the likes of Hackd, I headed out for Daytona Wednesday after work from Michigan. Made it about 325 miles before I started seeing more deer than cars and set down in Marietta Ohio. I made it to my hotel about 7:30 pm Thursday!! All I can say is WOW!

Left Saturday am and pulled into my garage at 3:30 Sunday. I know, wasn't a long stay but just look at the weather reports up here, you'll understand! Never made an Iron Butt out of it, but 850 on day 2 going down was a personal best.

Only thing I missed was someone to ride with ... next year I ain't going it alone!

If you made it this far, thanks for reading. Here's some pix ...

Just brought the pics up so they would show

Good for you Dave! I'm sure envious of anybody still riding. 2 to 4 centimeters of snow today.

Congratulations! That is one serious trip especially since you didn't know what you're going to run into on the return trip (weather-wise). I do a few long trips a year, and there really isn't anything like it.

Well, I am more of a newbie than I care to admit, and haven't figured out how to do a slideshow. I don't have a ton of pictures as I got there really early on the first day and there was not a lot going on. I did a couple of short tour trips around Daytona and did the ceremonial ride up/down the main street once the crowd started showing up.

Here are a few more links: (not sure my posting size limits, just click the links).

Sorry, no good pix of the 'ladies' in chaps and not much else. My wife let me go this trip alone and I want to be able to do it again. Those are just burned into my memory (Actually, the dad-gum camera battery gave out on me!)
