OK, I saw this thread start the other day but I was in the process of installing the Terminal Velocity II on my 2007 Ultra and didn't want to say anything until I finished and did a test drive. I also installed a K&N High flow A/C too.

I just went for a 73 mile ride and after about 20-25 miles she came to life. I was suprised because I still have the OEM exhaust on it too. Suddenly I heard a change in the exhaust note and noticed that when pulling out from a stop I could burn rubber. WOW!!!!

I have more to tell but we have a dinner to go to so I'll finish on another post later.

One thing, the install was quite interesting, but worth the end results.

Later...

Continued...

Once the TVII started to take control I noticed that I could wind it up into the 4000-5000 range and enjoyed it. I was doing 70 in fourth gear, a feat nearly impossible before the install unless going downhill with the wind. It was also nice to be able to pick up speed on inclines and feel like I could actually pass someone if I needed to. On my bike I noticed that the low rpm surging was gone but if I really wound her out and backed off the throttle there was a very faint popping almost like it was gurggling(sp?). This really doesn't bother me any because all of the bikes I have owned popped some especially on heavy decel.

I just pulled the plugs and they are the coffee-n-cream color they should be. I took notice too that the there seemed to be less heat comming off the bike too, an issue that prompted me to start these mods. The last thing I did before coming back home yesterday was to get on the freeway and check out how things went in cruise. It went well. I did notice that when I decided to get on it in sixth gear past half throttle there was some shortlived pinging, but it corrected it self after a second or two.

The install did not take the 1 hour stated in the directions. As a matter of fact it took me (electrician) about 3 1/2 hours with my sons help. I highly recommend getting the help of a friend. You will need the extra hands when soldering. I also recommend getting some Liquid Electrecal Tape. I didn't have any at the time but I am going to add some quick connectors to be able to take off the TVII if needed and reinstall with out having to solder and I'll put the liquid tape on then. Also, the directions were somewhat vague. There was a phrase that went, "Solder the pink with green tracer wire to our green wire." They had three "green wires" It is hard to explain how it all went on here but after looking at the unit from a "logical" point of view it was easy to determine which "green" wire they were talking about.

My next step is to put a 2 into 1 exhaust on it. I have been waiting for the MFR's to get these systems out for the 2007's and now that they have I will be picking a set of Rinehart's up on Friday. If anyone is interested I'll post on this setup as things progress. If not I'll just enjoy the ride!!!

Terminal Velocity II / K&N High Flow / and soon Rinehart 2 into 1.

Take Care,
Nate

Yes, please share your continued findings.

Thanks for all the info so far. I'm curious to know if the pinging continues.

Thanks also, Nate. I'm considering a TVII and you review of the performance is very helpful.

Wow thanks Nate for all your information the systems seems right for me and my skills i can't wait until spring it's been a tough year when you know there is a problem but no one will address it thanks again. I plan on buying a set of plugs male & female with pins in your opinion will this work a little better then soldering.

There was a thread a couple months ago regarding the TVII. I posted on there, but here it is again:

Installed a TVII in April. Took about 100 miles of riding for it to completely dial in, and once it did I was in heaven. My RK starts easier, gets better gas mileage, and has much better throttle response. I've put over three thousand miles on it since, and I still love it.

Install was a minor pain but worth the effort. For the record, its a 2000 Road King with SE 95" kit, Ness Big Sucker intake, Andrews TW50 cams, and a V&H Pro Pipe 2in1.

There are seven (7) splices you will have to make on a 2007 bike. I'm not sure of the setup on other models just the one I did. But some of the splices require a three-way re-connect. In other words you are cutting the original wire and re-splicing it back together with a third wire from the TVII. Basically you are making a "T" splice. Five of the connections I made were three-way splices. The other two were simple cut and splice in the new wire.

Hope this hepls you pick out your connectors.

I work as an electrician at a power plant and will be looking at a bunch of connectors here over the next several days in our vendor books. When I decide on a connector that will work I'll post it. Or if anyone else finds something please share it. I'm always in to saving time and leg work.

Thanks and I'm glad my efforts have helped others. Ain't this a cool place!

Later,
Nate
