correct Locking of detachable windshield on a Road King
Hi, I am new to the forum and a new Road King owner (2004 RK standard - injected). I have read the manual and am not seeing the detail that I need on the locking in of the windshield. I can see how (I think) it is supposed to lock in, but the two spring clips are not low enough to drop behind the top rubber bushing. I assume that these are supposed to drop down behind the bushing, keeping the windshield from rocking forward and becoming disengaged. Is this correct? If so, it looks as though these clips need to be bent down so that they normally rest in a lower position. I do not want to start benting on these spring clips until I have some knowledgable input. Thanks,
Jeff

My clips were too high too. Per the dealership's instructions I bend them down by hand and I haven't had any problems with them breaking or anything. They eventually will become too high again and I just keep bending them down. I remove/install my windshield almost daily depending on my destination.

This topic was covered in detail within the last month, including a pic of how the clips should be bent.
Search for it. If I find it before you, I'll post a link.
BTW...get them bent right or the windshield can blow off (forward).

Thanks gentlemen, these are some really great ideas - I'll get right on it when I get home. Special thanks to Venture33 for the pics - they make it a lot easier to be able to see what it is actually supposed to look like.
