if i pop it open to change the battery does it screw up the programming keep in mind i only have one a cage ran over my spare, so its gotta go right

or i have to do that over ride procedure which is a pain in the butt,
if anybodys done this let me know my battery in there is a couple of years old

 

In my '09 owners manual, it says nothing about messing up the programming or anything. It says to simply pop it open, change the battery, snap it back closed. Here's pics out of the manual. I hope these help:

I have changed batteries in both of my 07 fobs, it has NO effect on the security system at all, nothing to worry about.
