I thought I would replace both FOB batteries this month to be set for the next riding season. When you replace them do you need to redo the pin number or will the FOB remember the code? First time I have messed with replacing the batteries and couldn't find the answer in the manual.
Edit The manual and the SmartSecuritySystem owners record card have different procedures to redo the pin. Can anyone tell me which one is correct?
you're reading it wrong. the card does not have the procedure for changing the pin, it is the procedure for entering the pin to override your security.
but like others have said, you won't have to worry about it when just changing batteries.
why wouldn't you ride during the winter? I ride at least 1 time every month. As long as the roads do not have snow or ice, it recharges batteries mine and the bikes !

The card managed to confuse me then. Inside it just says personal identification pin. on the back Operation with sub paragraphs to arm and disarm the system, and transport mode to arm and disarm the system.
I did change out the batteries yesterday and tesyed ot see if the bike would start up. No problem there just like I was told.
Why have I been carrying this card around with me for the last few years?
You are right though I was reading the card wrong and didn't know it. My bad.
