Question 09 SG... how do you adjust the stock shocks?

I moved up from an 08 sportster custom and I have a tool that I used to adjust the stiffness of the shocks.

Do the shocks on the new 2009 Dyna Superglide custom work the same way?
Which way so I turn each shock - the sportster shocks had notches so I could tell whether I the shock was getting stiffer.

Any insight would be helpful.

Ryan.

Works the same as the Sportsters. Just watch them as you turn them if it gets longer then its stiffer (that didnt sound good lol).

Best thing its to turn them both all the way one direction then adjust. many come from the shop set on 2 different leves.

FWIW, I'm not sure what tool you have, but I recommend using a rubber strap wrench, they are inexpensive and work well, without scratching or messing up the finish on the shocks.

I bought the Harly tool for a couple of £ ($), I put a soft rag over the adjustment area and make sure the tool is correcly fitted before adjusting, to stiffen the tension apply pressure to the tool towards the front of the bike, if your on the right hand side that to the right and if on the left hand side, towards the left, sorry if thats basic but it seem's the best way to explain. I ride two up 50% of the time so I'm adjusting the shocks on a regular basis. The spring will compress giving less travel, longer shocks make for soft suspension. Make sure you make the same number of adustments to both sides or go to the stop. ( Full Stiffness / softess)

Hope this helps.
