Regarding the wrap as many posters have commented sometimes they will crack the pipes. I had a wrapped thunderheader and I caught my jeans on fire. I think the heat shields work way better but love the look of a wrapped pipe. I guess its kind of a crap shoot whether or not they will hurt the pipes. I dont know how it would help but some have mentioned double wrapping. If I was going to wrap my pipes id consider that.
I wrapped my pipes but i wrapped over the heat shields to allow some of the heat to dissapate through the gaps created by the shields. Idk if it will help in the long run but im not worried about it....if it ever cracks ill be getting a new pipe oh well...
Went with the Titanium. Not sure how I like it. Was Chrome until the heat shield failed
You only need to wrap as far as the collector (where the two pipes join into one). Might look a little better if you only went that far too. I think it would.
Of course, it's your bike and you may like it exactly as it is. And that's cool!
I ceramic coated both the inside and outside with Jet Hot silver. One run to and from Daytona (240mi/each way) at 90+ MPH turned my pipes dull gray and no matter what I do, I can not polish back in the shine.

I recently bought some new ultimas, fairly inexpensive so not too worried I'd th crack. My previous pipes, although they were older, did crack after only a couple months of use rendering them useless and making me buy a new set. Here is a pick of how I wrapped. I only did where it was close enough to burn me.
