Did a search but didn't really find something that really applied, I noticed at full open throttle my slider on the body doesn't contact the stop by about a 1/4". Plan on doing an adjustment today but was curious if this has affected fuel mix all along, bike has always ran a little on the rich side. 2008 FXD
no, the cable moves the throttle shaft which the tps sensors is connected to on side of throttle body. the tps sensors sends that signal to the ecm and the ecm calculate's the fuel rate of injectors. sounds like u have a tune problem.
Thanks Target I wasn't real sure if bike had a TPS but now it makes sense, got the cable adjusted and I think the bikes making 10 more hp. Meanwhile I'm having a blast riding with the temps back in the 60's
I agree the throttle cable only serves as a sending signal, and can not effect your tune. If your getting more HP it has to be because you can now open to full throttle thanks to you recent adjustment.!
