2013 Dyna Speedo stop working
Got a 2013 Sporty here and just out of warranty....
Speedo and housing had to be removed to be replaced with billet alu housing. Simple job remove 2 small screws at back of housing, unclip multiplug from inside (ignition off), fit speedo to new bracket reclip multi plug, bolt back onto trees job done! No way - now we have no idiot lights on dash except for high bean and new readouts on speedo whatsover. Test the multi plug at speedo end yes there is power to orange wire & orange/white wire. Yes there is an earth. Still nothing. Check inside plug and speedo - all terminals are fine, nothing pulled out/bent etc. All fuses fine with power and correct voltage.
So get another bike, 2012 this time with same speedo - switch them over and ....now we got 2 of the damn things not working!
Spoke to 2 Main HD Stealers to ask if HD had put any new reset procedures in place - they say no - just plug and play.
Anyone got any ideas whats happening here folks? simple job gone crazy.

To refresh - original speedo was removed to repaint housing (usual HD lack of quality) and consisted of removing from risers and removal of back plate to access multi-plug - simple and quick.
When painted - same day - ignition off - put back into housing - multi plug attached and noting on display whatsoever. The only light that works anywhere on dash is the high beam blue. The multi plug is powered as required and all other lights can be manually activated on dash.
Later a mate came by with his machine and we swapped the speedos over to test - exact same problem, only now we have 2 "new" bikes with 2 non working speedos!
s the power is at the plug it seems it's the speedo heads that have somehow failed. They too can be power up manually and are displyaing their lights and mileage correctly.
