I have a 2002 fxdwg. I removed the console and made a piece for a cleaner look. I move the tach – auto meter 19306 and speedo – 19340 to a handle bar/bracket combo. The tach works great, the speedo worked for awhile. Now, most of the time, mileage/speed do not register. When I turn on the ignition I can switch between total mileage and trip mileage. If there are any trip miles, I can reset to zero. When I fire my bike up the needle sits. Any ideas?

I recently had my speedo go dead also and had to take it to the dealer. Diagnosis was a carcked soder point on the comperter board where the pulg from the speedo connected. Since mine is an 08 it was still under warranty they covered cost. Also I had friends talk about others that had the same problem and found that it was ony a pin in the plug that had worked loose. May want to check on that.
